First Visit

What to Expect

In order to prevent future dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when his or her first tooth appears or no later than their first birthday. This visit gives your child an opportunity to meet us in a fun and friendly way that typically involves very little treatment. During the examination, our doctor will check all of your child’s existing teeth for decay, examine your child’s bite, and look for any potential problems with the gums, jaw, and oral tissues. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay in the room during the exam.

If indicated, we may recommend dental x-ray for older kids. However, we are very conservative and careful to limit the amount of radiation to which children are exposed.

Dr. Segui and our pediatric specialist believe all kids, especially those with special needs, deserve the best dental care. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed with your child’s unique needs in mind and all staff members are professionally trained to help and care for patients with disabilities.
