COSMO DENTAL SAFETY GUIDE

Important Information Regarding COVID-19

In recognition of ongoing news reports and the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, we realize our patients have questions. As dedicated health care professionals, we want you to know that we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing personal protective gear, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, utilizing single-use disposable materials, and more. Every effort we have in place is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We want you to know that we are monitoring this situation very closely, and we will keep you updated regularly.

Symptoms of coronavirus are reported as flu-like, with varying degrees of severity. While we do not know everything about this virus to date, individuals who are elderly and/or immunocompromised appear to be the most at risk of a severe infection. To ensure your health and safety, and the health and safety of everyone at our practice, please reschedule your appointment if you or a member of your household has a cough, fever, and/or flu-like symptoms. In addition, please reschedule your appointment if you have traveled to any areas within the past 14 days that are at high risk for contracting the coronavirus.

We thank you in advance and extend our gratitude for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can help keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office, and one of our staff members will be more than happy to assist you.

– DR. ISABELLE SEGUI

A safer visit starts before you come in.

01

PRE-VISIT HEALTH CHECKS

We’ll get in touch to ask some new screening questions that help us understand if you can be seen at this time. If not, we’ll ask you to reschedule. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive.

02

STAGGERED VISIT TIMES

For safety, we ensure minimal appointment overlap. We’ll do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

03

PLEASE, NO ADDITIONAL GUESTS

Only parents, guardians, translators or interpreters, and other necessary support people should accompany patients to appointments, and only if their presence is required for treatment.

A safer visit starts before you come in.

04

TEMPERATURE CHECKS

We’ll take your temperature with a contactless thermometer. If you have a fever, we’ll ask you to reschedule.

05

FACE COVERINGS

We require masks or cloth face coverings to be worn in the office before and after your treatment. If you forgot to bring your own, we’ll provide you with one.

06

MINIMIZE WAITING

To minimize the number of people in our waiting room, we’ll ask that you remain in your vehicle and only enter the office at your scheduled appointment time. We’ll be ready for you!

07

SOCIAL DISTANCING

We’ll require everyone to maintain at least six feet of separation as they move through the office when possible.

08

REMOVING SHARED ITEMS

For the time being, we’re limiting items that are difficult to clean and disinfect such as headphones, takeaway bags, brochures, and magazines in the waiting room. If you would like to use headphones during your visit, please bring your own.

09

HAND WASHING

We’ll ask that you take a moment to wash your hands or use provided hand sanitizer when you arrive.

A safe and friendly clinical experience—always.

10

SURGICALLY CLEAN AIR

We’ve installed a new industry-leading, surgical-grade indoor air cleaning system throughout our practice. This six-stage filtration system captures bio-aerosols, viruses, dust particles, pollen, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), gases, mold, allergens, odors, and more for cleaner, safer air to breathe

11

TRAINING & SUPPORT

We’re continually training our staff on new safety and clinical procedures, and have had each member of our team professionally trained and fit-tested while wearing their PPE to ensure it is properly worn and providing maximum protection.
